Sheriff's Safety Town

Construction at Sheriff's Safety Town is in full swing as officials prepare for a November opening. Shown here is the Willis-Knighton Education Building, where thousands of youngsters will learn safety skills in a fun and interactive environment. The Sheriff's Office recently kicked off a Living Legacy Tree Project to raise funds for construction at SST. Red maples and crepe myrtles that will be planted at Safety Town are being sold for $250 each. Each tree will be marked permanently with a plaque recognizing the donor. Caddo Sheriff's deputies called to oil spill

   Caddo sheriff's deputies responded to an oil spill on a lease just west of Greenwood earlier today.It's estimated that about 10 barrels (400-500 gallons) of oil escaped when an above-ground line was cut by someone cutting grass in the area. Man arrested for possessing property stolen from KCS

    Caddo Sheriff's deputies arrested a man for possessing stolen items from Kansas City Southern railroad.Earlier this month, KCS reported $11,000 worth of stolen angle bars taken from their property in Rodessa. Detective Donnie Laney arrested Rodney Kyle Stone, 40, of McCloud, Texas, after he tried to sell over $5,000 worth of the stolen property to a scrap yard in Atlanta, Texas.Stone was ar... [more]
