Caddo Sheriff's detectives are investigating a shooting that left one man injured early this morning on Wallace Lake Road, said Sheriff Steve Prator.
Detectives said Byron Kelly and Robert Charles Woodson, both 63, have had a long-running feud over neighboring property where they both live in the 9700 block of Wallace Lake Road. This morning, around 10:30 a.m., Kelly was leaving home in his truck and stopped at the gate when he was approached by Woodson. The two became involved in a physical altercation when a shot was fired by Kelly, striking Woodson in the neck. Kelly left the property and drove down the street where he then called 911 to report the incident. Woodson's family, which was having a gathering at his property, also reported the incident.
Woodson was taken to University Health by Caddo Fire District #6.He has a non-life threatening injury.
Deputies interviewed Kelly and other witnesses. No arrest has been made, and the investigation continues. The case is expected to be turned over to the Caddo District Attorney for review.
