About the Auxiliary Unit . . .

The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Auxiliary Unit is over 100 members strong and continues to grow daily. An auxiliary deputy is a volunteer who has no arrest power and does not carry a weapon. Auxiliaries assist full-time deputies with duties including traffic, neighborhood patrols, community programs, and special events. They wear an au xiliary uniform and are allowed to drive marked patrol cars for high visibility. Auxiliaries must be 21 years of age and have no criminal record.
