From Red River in south Caddo Parish to Black Bayou in north Caddo Parish, the sheriff’s Marine Unit patrols these and all parish waterways in between. The full-time operation is responsible for enforcing all state, parish and municipal laws and ordinances that affect area rivers and lakes. The unit operates five watercraft and maintains a highly visible presence on area waterways to ensure a safe boating atmosphere. Deputies assigned to the Marine Unit are trained in Scuba, rescue operations, first response, and watercraft operations.
