About Mounted Patrol . . .
The Caddo Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol is a volunteer unit made up of regular, reserve and auxiliary deputies who provide their own horses, western tack, trucks and trailers. Members and their horses must successfully complete a 40-hour mounted patrol course. All horses must have current health papers.

The Mounted Patrol is fully trained and proficient in techniques including crowd control, formation riding, search patterns, obstacle courses, and defensive tactics. Members are certified to participate in honor guard activities, conduct search and rescue missions, criminal search and apprehension missions, and take part in regular criminal patrols.

For information about joining the Mounted Patrol, call the Sheriff’s Office at (318) 681-1100.
