Several steps are involved in the selection process for employment with the sheriff's office. You can expect the process to take anywhere from twenty-one (21) to sixty (60) days. Successful completion of all steps involved does not guarantee that you will be employed. If you are not among the applicants selected, you will receive written notification within thirty (30) days after selections are made. CPSO reserves the right to terminate the process at any time without notification to the applicant as to the reason why.

• Complete the pre-employment questionnaire and return the document to the Personnel Division.
• Pass the reading comprehension test.
• Upon passing the reading comprehension test, the applicant will schedule a physical fitness test, and will be scheduled for a tour of the Caddo Correctional Center, and a panel interview date.

• Interview board
• Criminal history and background investigation
• Polygraph examination
• Psychological tests
• Medical examination and drug screening examanations

Applicants for Corrections Deputies are required to pass a modified physical fitness test. You will be tested by sex and age group; in flexibility, strength, and endurance in order to continue through the selection process.
